Last Minute: New Year’s By the Bay
Are you in California and don’t have plans for the New Year’s holiday weekend? You’re not alone; a lot of people are in the same boat. Here are some great events that are fun, funky and a downright good deal:
- On New Year’s Eve, catch an “Eclectic Fever” in San Francisco’s historic Fillmore District at the "Eclectic Fever New Year’s Eve Party and Benefit." The “international music escapade” will feature funk, afro beat,and soul music that will inspire dancing all night long. Not only are tickets discounted for Travelzoo subscribers but a portion of the proceeds goes to “Doctors without Borders,” an international non-profit organization.
- New Year’s Day is a great day to sit back, relax and take in a great show. Jan. 1 is also the last day to grab 50% off tickets to see "Shrek The Musical." Catch the famous ogre and a "buoyant concoction of bright musical numbers,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle, before it’s too late. The show leaves town Jan. 2.
- Or head to the Pier 29 at the beautiful waterfront on Jan. 2 to close out your New Year's weekend at Teatro Zinzanni where “Love, Chaos and Dinner” is the theme of the event. Matinee and evening performances are discounted.
