Shiny. Sleek. Sophisticated. Sustainable.
The much-hyped revamp of Terminal 2 (T2) is already becoming a San Francisco International Airport icon. Unveiled this month, its creators hope that it becomes the first LEED gold-certified airport terminal in the United States.
The open space is adorned with modern art masterpieces and pulsing with a vibe similar to that of a Virgin America flight -- the look and feel of a trendy lounge or club.
The concessions are fresh and represent tasty local San Francisco favorites such as The Plant Café Organic, the city’s first Pinkberry frozen yogurt and a gourmet market with Kara’s Cupcakes and meals designed by celebrity chef Tyler Florence.
Waiting in an airport actually becomes quite comfortable with seating options for an on-the-go city slicker (there are ample outlets at work stations) or a lounger (check out the pod seating – my favorite). There is even a clean play area for kids. Plus, the terminal offers soft natural lighting and don’t even get me started on the hip bathroom music.
A pre-flight must: Fill up at the hydration station offering free filtered water.
Explore the innovative terminal with this sale from Virgin America. Flights nationwide have been reduced to the lowest prices they've been this year. Book by April 29.
