For the next three weeks, techies on the move can access free Wi-Fi at 4,000 hot spots set up by Boingo & sponsored by Google Play. Travelers can now log on at 15 major domestic airport terminals as well as Manhattan subway stations, hotels, cafes and high-traffic areas nationwide.
Airports with free access include New York's JFK, Chicago's O’Hare, both Houston airports and Seattle-Tacoma.
The Wi-Fi hot spots are available only on laptops and to users with Android phones and tablets. After the promotion expires at the end of September, Boingo’s Wi-Fi access plans will be available starting at $7.95 a month.
