Free Outdoor Concerts in Los Angeles
As warm weather peaks and the start of the school year nears, spend the last weeks of summer touring the Los Angeles music scene. Check out these outdoor concert venues for free performances throughout the city:
- Grab your lawn chairs, a picnic basket and the family, and head over to the Levitt Pavilions every Wednesday-Sunday for free outdoor concerts. This year they will host more than 100 concerts in MacArthur Park and Pasadena through early September.
- For the more refined ear, spend a Tuesday evening relaxing at the Hollywood & Highland Center wine and jazz events held through August. While the music portion is complimentary, there is a suggested donation for wine that benefits Project Angel Food.
- Mix it up with Flamenco, Reggae, Celtic, salsa and rock 'n’ roll music with concerts under the stars at the 17th annual Culver City Music Festival. Held every Thursday night at 7 p.m., the venue is walking distance to restaurants and even parking is free!
- Perhaps featuring the most diverse music series, Grand Performances hosts weekly Friday afternoon and Thursday-Sunday evening concerts. Set amidst the skyscrapers of Downtown Los Angeles, this venue is convenient to the Metro and Angels Flight.
Over these dates, hotels in the Los Angeles area are as much as $100 off per night.
