People are always celebrating in San Francisco. There are street fairs and festivals almost every weekend (and often during the week) that are completely free. The events can be cultural, seasonal and are always spirited.
The 28th annual San Francisco Jazz Festival has commenced and runs weekends -- and some weeknights -- through Nov. 20. Tickets start at $15 to see some of the finest jazz musicians including Marcus Shelby, Ravi Shankar and Rosanne Cash. San Francisco has a storied place in the history of jazz and now you can visit the city and stay at the chic Clift hotel for half off during some festival dates.
San Francisco is also one of most culturally colorful cities. If you're in town Nov. 2 stay for Dia de los Muertos parade and festival where over 15,000 people are expected to gather and celebrate Mexico's Day of the Dead. Through art, music, and ritual the event honors ancestors and celebrates the vitality of today's community. Or if you'd prefer to celebrate the holiday in native Mexico, a very affordable deal to Mexico has just been released, you can see more details here.
