Effects of Winter Storm Freeze Air Travel

Airlines are still getting operations back on schedule after a double whammy of a winter snow storm and bitter cold weather across much of the Midwest and Northeast. Also complicating matters was a new FAA rule that requires more time between shifts for pilots and fewer consecutive flying hours.

JetBlue, in particular, is ramping up service after shutting down its entire JFK and Boston operations on Monday.

Many airlines have issued travel advisories and are waiving change fees on flights from select airports on affected dates, most through Wednesday or Thursday.

Airlines recommend checking your flight status before traveling to the airport. You can download the TSA app (Android | iPhone) for information on delays and security time at airports across the U.S.
