Here are some of our favorite Midwest fall foliage destinations and deals to get you there that save as much as 60% on regular rates.

Mackinaw Island, Michigan

  • This quaint island is a car-free, but no worries, the destination is very walkable. Explore the stores, candy shops and restaurants or take in the fall foliage on a carriage ride. Get a room at the historic Island House Hotel with rates starting at $99 per night; but hurry, this deal ends Sept. 3.

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

  • Within two hours driving of Chicago and Milwaukee, Lake Geneva provides a tranquil setting outlined by trees. See the leaves change color while riding horseback or biking through the surrounding hills. Fall also brings many festivals, including the Autumn Harvest Festival (Saturdays through Oct. 31), Oktoberfest (Oct. 9-10) and the Lake Geneva Wine Festival (Sept. 10-11). Snag a one-bedroom condo for $69 per night.

Onamia, Minnesota

Just 90 minutes outside of Minneapolis, the Izatys Resort in Onamia is offering a $138-per-night package including unlimited golf, cart rental and $10 dining credit.
