In an effort to boost tourism numbers that have fallen dramatically since last year's earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster, Japan's tourism agency is proposing a campaign that offers up 10,000 free roundtrip tickets.
Travelers interested in the free tickets would apply online, detail travel plans and agree to post a review of the trip online through blogs and social media sites. Accommodations and meals would be your own dime, but based on current ticket prices -- the free flight would save at least $1000.
The campaign and website are not live yet. According to reports, the anticipated start date would be in April 2012. We'll be keeping an eye on this story as it develops.
Stay tuned!
