Sunny Thompson brings her acclaimed portrayal of Marilyn Monroe to Houston this month in "Marilyn: Forever Blonde: The Marilyn Monroe Story in Her Own Words and Music." Travelzoo subscribers save 50% on several seating sections, including Orchestra.
Tickets in these sections are available for the 8 p.m. performances Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 21-23, at Wortham Center's Cullen Theater:
Thompson has been touring with the play since it opened in 2007. Theater Jones says she "seems born to play the role. From face to figure, she fits the bill perfectly, but the triumph of her performance is in capturing Marilyn's enigmatic softness." The show is staged as a memoir of the film icon's career and social life, taking place during a photo shoot shortly before her death.
