"Shrek The Musical" sets up swamp in San Francisco's historic Orpheum Theatre, and tickets to all evening performances through Jan.1 have been reduced by as much as 50%.
Orchestra and Mezzanine seats to the show that features a "buoyant concoction of bright musical numbers and jokes to please young and old alike" (San Francisco Chronicle) are a surprising $49.50 (regularly $80-$99).
"Shrek The Musical," based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, brings the story of the fabled ogre to life on stage. In a fairytale twist, an unseemly ogre -- not a handsome prince -- shows up to rescue a princess. Other fairytale characters include a persistent donkey, a short-tempered villain and over a dozen other misfits. "Shrek The Musical" also features a score of 19 all-new songs, comedy, dancing and vivid scenery.
