On Saturday, more than 1400 museums across the country will waive admission for the ninth annual Museum Day Live!, hosted by Smithsonian Magazine. This deal includes free visits to botanical gardens, premier art galleries and local cultural institutions.

Tickets are limited to one per household -- good for two people -- and must be presented upon entry for free admission.

Some of the most popular museums participating include:

  • Los Angeles: GRAMMY Museum (reg. $12.95)
  • Chicago: Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (reg. $12)
  • San Francisco: de Young - Fine Arts Museum (reg. $11)
  • Dallas: Dallas Holocaust Museum (reg. $8)
  • New York City: The Skyscraper Museum (reg. $5)
  • Atlanta: The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (reg. $5)

For a complete list of participating museums, visit the Find a Museum page. Each ticket is valid for entry to one participating museum. If museums reach capacity, they have the right to limit the number of guests until space becomes available.

Note: With this offer, fees charged for special exhibits and for parking still apply.

Travelzoo Tip: For a full day of deals, we suggest pairing the museum day with a nearby lunch, wine tasting or an overnight stay. For a full roundup of local deals, click here.
