Time magazine calls "War Horse," winner of five 2011 Tony Awards including Best Play, "a landmark theater event." See this story of friendship and courage, told through "inspired puppetry" (San Francisco Chronicle), with this offer for performances at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

Rear/Side Orchestra, Dress Circle and Balcony seats are $40, regularly $61-$71 for the following performances:

  • Wednesday, June 5 at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 6 at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m.

"War Horse" is the story of a British boy who follows his horse to Europe's battlefields during World War I. The actors in the show are joined by full-scale puppets -- horses created by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company -- resulting in "a blast of pure theatrical imagination" (Newsday).
