"Lambarena & Voluntaries"

"Lambarena & Voluntaries" is a mix of repertoire pieces: Glen Tetley's athletic and dramatic "Voluntaries" (called "a masterpiece" by The New York Times); Val Caniparoli's "Lambarena," which infuses classical ballet and Bach with African movements; and Texas Ballet Theater artistic director Ben Stevenson's "Sylvia" and "Laila and the Swan."

  • Saturday, May 25 at 2 p.m.

"Theme and Variations" by Balanchine is set to the music of Tchaikovsky's Suite No. 3. In the second portion of this show, the men of Texas Ballet Theater take the stage in Stevenson's "Mozart Requiem," an all-male ballet staged to Mozart's famous chorale.
