Pasadena Symphony and Pops presents Rose & the Nightingale at the Los Angeles Arboretum, and tickets are now 50% off. The female string quartet will perform "The Spirit of the Garden," which was composed for concerts in public gardens.

All tickets are $35 (regularly $70) for the intimate garden concert and cocktail reception at the botanical gardens in Arcadia on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m. The audience will be in on the action with seats on stage with the performers.

Rose & the Nightingale are Jody Redhage (cello, vocals, compositions), Sara Caswell (violin and mandolin), Laila Biali (piano and vocals) and Leala Cyr (vocals, trumpet and percussion). The group members have performed internationally on five continents, at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Barbican in London, Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, Cape Town South Africa festivals and Tokyo’s Blue Note.
