The opera follows Eddie, an Italian American dockworker, who struggles with jealousy when his orphaned niece falls in love. Kim Josephson will star as Eddie, a role he originated in the opera's 1999 world premiere.
Composer William Bolcom was a professor of music at the University of Michigan for 35 years. The Detroit Free Press raves that Bolcom's songs are "a vibrant and witty marriage of music and words and dramatic vitality."
