Ashton's "The Dream"
By Anne Reardon

American Ballet Theatre will perform "Don Quixote" and "Works by Fokine, Gomes, and Ashton" at the Kennedy Center Opera House with tickets for 50% off.  The group is "one of the greatest classical troupes," according to The New York Times.

Middle and Side Orchestra seats are $29 (reg. $59) for "Works by Fokine, Gomes, and Ashton" and $32-$34 ($65-$69) for "Don Quixote," for the following performances:

"Works by Fokine, Gomes, and Ashton"

  • Tuesday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m.

"Don Quixote"

  • Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.

In "Don Quixote," matadors, gypsies, lively street scenes, and a giant windmill all evoke a storybook Spain, powered by nonstop dancing set to Ludwig Minkus's melodic score. "Works by Fokine, Gomes, and Ashton" will include "The Dream," Sir Frederick Ashton's enchanting one-act ballet based on A Midsummer Night's Dream (pictured above)."

Book by April 17.
Restrictions may apply.
