The Oct. 24 concert is part of the Discovery Series and will feature commentary prior to each piece being performed. Preconcert talks will start at 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 25 and 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 27. The lowest prices are available at the Oct. 24 concert.
About the concerts: Prokofiev’s Second Piano Concerto has become one of the most popular concertos in Boston Philharmonic repertory and will feature Chinese pianist Jue Wang in his Boston debut. Conductor Benjamin Zander will also offer a fresh take on Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony, a favorite with audiences. The program also features Glinka's Overturn to Ruslan and Ludmila.
