The Off-Broadway hit "Violet" opens at Ford's Theatre this month, and tickets are now 50% off. The musical from Tony-nominated composer Jeanine Tesori ("Thoroughly Modern Millie") and director Jeff Calhoun ("Newsies") is "a truly charming and meaningful new American musical!” (The New York Post).

Tickets for all performances, Jan. 24-Feb. 17, are available, in the following sections:

  • Balcony ... $10-$18 (reg. $20-$35)
  • Side/Rear Orchestra ... $14-$25 (reg. $28-$50)
  • Center and Front Orchestra ... $16.50 (reg. $33) (only availablefor preview performances, Jan. 24-28)

 "Violet" tells the story of a young woman who embarks on a journey by bus from her farm in Spruce Pine, N.C. to Tulsa, Okla., to have a facial scar healed. The dynamic score combines bluegrass, gospel, country and rock.
