Cheap Flights to Mobile

Located along the waters of the Mobile Bay, Mobile, Alabama is a charming southern port city with a unique French influence. More than 300 years ago, Mobile was the capital of French Louisiana. Today, much of this early influence remains. The city's annual Carnival and Mardi Gras celebrations are some of the largest in the country, with special events starting as early as November and lasting until February. The city also sports many French-inspired restaurants, though other unique culinary options are available as well, including southern-style barbecue and oyster bars. With multiple historic districts, Mobile is famous for its antebellum architecture, which includes examples of Greek Revival and Gothic Revival, among others. The city also has an array of museums and historical sites, including Battleship Memorial Park. This popular attraction is located on the shore of Mobile Bay and features a World War II era battleship and submarine as well as Korean War and Vietnam War memorials. Civil War buffs will want to take a trip to Fort Morgan, Fort Gaines and Historic Blakely State Park. All three sites played roles in Alabama's Civil War history. With more than 45 public parks, there are plenty of green spaces where tourists can enjoy the city's natural beauty. Consider a trip to the Mobile Botanical Gardens, a 100-acre facility that boasts a large variety of plant life including a rhododendron garden and a longleaf pine habitat.
