Hit the road without being pinched at the pump, as 20,000 bus tickets are available for $1 for travel through summer between Pittsburgh and nine cities.

This deal, which celebrates Pittsburgh becoming the sixth megabus.com hub, comes as gas prices surge toward record highs.

The 20,000 $1 seats are for travel May 11 - Aug. 31 on these newly-added routes to or from Pittsburgh:

  • Akron, Ohio
  • Buffalo
  • Cincinnati
  • Cleveland
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Detroit
  • Erie, Pa.
  • Toledo, Ohio
  • Toronto

A limited number of $1 seats are also available on six existing Pittsburgh routes:

  • Camden, N.J.
  • Harrisburg, Pa.
  • New York City
  • Philadelphia
  • State College, Pa.
  • Washington, D.C.

The $1 seats are most widely available in May and June; book early for the best selection. When the $1 tickets on each route are gone, other discounted seats will be available.

Note: There is a $0.50 per transaction booking fee.

Travelzoo Tip: With a stop in Pittsburgh, it's possible to travel between any two of the cities listed above for as little as $2 each way (for example, $1 from Detroit to Pittsburgh, then $1 from Pittsburgh to NYC). However, schedule ample time to make the connection, in the event of delays due to weather or traffic.
