The Deal
For $55, two can dine at a Greektown restaurant that was praised for its "sexy vibe" by Dine.TO and recently played host to a celebrity film screening during the Toronto International Film Festival. This dinner at Local Restaurant & Lounge on the Danforth includes appetizers, entrees and drinks for two that would regularly cost up to $111.
The leather booths, long communal tables, exposed bricks and white curtains provide the backdrop to chef David Bizeau's Mediterranean-inspired dishes. With this deal, guests can choose from anything on the menu, including:
• Any two starters like grilled lamb chops served with sauteed mixed greens and a honey lemon glaze; Russet frites sprinkled with sea salt and garlic and cracked pepper mayonnaise; or Rodney's Malpaque oysters served with grated horseradish, lemon and mignonette sauce
• Any two entrees like 10-ounce AAA Angus steak with roasted shallot jus; pan-seared Dijon Atlantic salmon with fresh salsa verde; or wild mushroom risotto with baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, shaved Parmesan and truffle oil
