For $99, two can dine on selections from a specially crafted menu at a restaurant that's been awarded the 4-Diamond CAA/AAA Award for culinary excellence for seven consecutive years. Regularly $160, this four-course dinner at Tundra at the Hilton Toronto downtown also includes two wine pairings per guest.
Called "sophisticated and opulent" by Frommer's, Tundra seeks to create a uniquely Canadian dining experience. Montreal-based Lemaymichau Architecture Design recently redesigned
Tundra's 4,000 square foot space with materials and colors that evoke
Canadian landscapes. This sleek new design was unveiled in late August along with the
restaurant's new, Canadian-inspired menu. This exclusive deal gives Travelzoo subscribers a chance to try selections from the new menu that includes:
First Course
• Two glasses of sparkling VQA pinot grigio
• Shared starter of warm ficelle and bocconcini, putenesca relish, basil cress and roasted garlic oil
Second Course
• Soup of the day, an inspired daily collaboration by Tundra's chefs
• A romaine heart salad with grilled treviso, torn bread garlic croutons, house-made bacon crisp and a shaved grana padano horseradish-spiked Caesar dressing
Third Course
• Whiskey-brined breast of chicken with vanilla parsnip puree, savory granola, king oyster mushrooms, green grapes and pickled mustard seeds
• Slow-roasted cured salmon served with crispy baby fennel, black garlic puree, braised turnips and a honey-thyme beurre noisette
• Roasted heirloom carrots with radish, cauliflower steak, Brussels sprouts, watercress and oven-dried ricotta fig vinaigrette
• Grilled Angus strip loin, served with Gorgonzola mash, French beans, rosemary mushrooms and a brandy-green peppercorn velouté
Fourth Course
• A slice of classic New York cheesecake with foraged berry compote
• White and dark chocolate ganache with a triple sec sponge and hazelnut crisps
