Vouchers can be redeemed starting Tuesday, May 1, through Oct. 16, 2012. Not valid on Saturdays in July and August. Not valid during festivals or special events (including fireworks sails, concert sails, performance series sales and the Air and Water Show weekend of Aug. 17-19, 2012). Same-day walk-up reservations only. No advance, Internet or phone reservations. A 9% entertainment tax is not included and is payable at the time of redemption. The Deal
Take to the waters of Lake Michigan on the Windy, a four-masted, 148-foot schooner that former Mayor Daley named the official flagship of the city of Chicago. For $15 per person, Travelzoo subscribers can sail the lake on one of more than a half-dozen hourlong or 75-minute cruises, regularly up to $30.
These tours are available throughout the summer and are helmed by captains with decades of experience. Choose from:
• The Real Pirates of the Inland Seas excursion, which teaches the history of Great Lakes skullduggery
• The "Aaarghitecture" Cruise, which reviews the history of Chicago's amazing skyline along with a fast-paced version of the "Real Pirates" program
• The Rum Runner trip, where passengers hear tales of water-based bootlegging during Prohibition
• The Sailor's Paradise tour, showcasing how Great Lakes sailors lived and worked as well as examining the differences between lake and ocean sailors
