Stroll the shell-filled beaches of a pristine island oasis with a room at a historic beachfront hotel for $163 (US$159) per night.
The Island Inn was founded in 1895 as a family-run boarding house and today stands as the longest-operated hotel in the area. This rate is available for stays Sundays-Thursdays June-August. Weekends cost $10 (US$10) more per night. This deal cuts 30% off rates compared with peak spring dates.
Nationally acclaimed interior designer Melinda Graham helped renovate the hotel in September 2011. Graham, who is a Sanibel resident, has been featured on TV networks including NBC, the Discovery Channel, HGTV, Lifetime and Oxygen.
There is no resort fee, so usage of the beach chairs and towels is complimentary. Daily continental breakfast is always included. A restaurant overlooks the pool deck and the dunes leading down to the beach.
