Unlike the many volcanic sand beaches of Costa Rica's Pacific Coast, Playa Conchal is made of finely ground sea shells that wash ashore. Rates at an upscale, all-inclusive resort, along this beach Fodor's calls "picture-perfect," are 40% less when compared with peak season pricing.
This $150 (US$145) per person, per night deal is available for stays through Oct. 31 at the 4-star Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal.
Amenities at this resort, where Frommer's says everything "is done on a grand scale," include an 18-hole golf course, eight restaurants, four bars and a discotheque.
As an all-inclusive resort, all taxes, meals, beverages including alcohol and non-motorized water sports are factored into the price.
Located in the province of Guanacaste, the resort is about an hour's drive from Liberia International Airport.
Note: Rates will be displayed in U.S. dollars.
