Located less than 100 metres from Eastbourne's Grand Parade Beach, the Best Western Lansdowne Hotel is two miles from Beachy Head's chalk cliffs and less than 10 minutes’ walk from the Congress Theatre, Devonshire Park Theatre and the Winter Garden. Eastbourne Pier is less than 15 minutes’ walk along the promenade.

"Enjoying an enviable position at the quieter end of the parade, this hotel overlooks the Western Lawns and Wish Tower, and is just a few minutes' walk from many of the town's attractions," says The AA.

Brighton is a 45-minute drive away and Tunbridge Wells a 50-minute drive. There are a wealth of picturesque villages in the surrounding area, as well as numerous gardens, vineyards and historic homes to explore in East Sussex and neighbouring Kent.

The hotel has been run by the same family since 1912. Facilities include the Devonshire Restaurant, serving British classics, the Regency Bar and a selection of sea-facing lounges with original Victorian features.

Bedrooms are "attractively decorated", according to The AA, and many have sea views. Children under five years old can stay for free on a bed-and-breakfast basis when sharing a room. Select rooms are dog friendly for an extra £10 per night (please request with the hotel first). Wi-Fi is free.
