Perched on the edge of the Hudson River, the Holiday Inn Express Midtown West is a convenient, good value hotel. Located favorably in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, it's near plenty of restaurants offering international cuisine as well as trendy lounges. Steps from the hotel is the Hudson Terrace, offering sprawling views of the Hudson River and panoramic views of New York City from its rooftop bar.
Waking up is easy with complimentary breakfast as an incentive, especially when it's a buffet of sausage, bacon, eggs and pancakes. After recharging, head out to the nearest train or bus station. The bus is just outside the hotel, while the train is about a 10-minute walk away. Walk 15 minutes to Times Square from the hotel while stopping at the many pit stops in between -- the Theater District is one, as are the numerous brunch and dessert shops along Broadway.
After a fulfilling day of sightseeing and fine dining, come back to the hotel for some rest. On warm days, the hotel's outdoor patio is a nice place to sit and people watch. On the cool days, head to a guest room and escape under a cozy comforter. Higher floors have the best views, but almost all the rooms show off pieces of the New York skyline.
