Combining a nightclub atmosphere with excellent restaurants and Mexican modern art, the ME Cancun is an all-inclusive resort that "oozes hipness," writes Fodor’s. The hotel stands on white sand between Nichupte Lagoon and the Caribbean Sea in the Hotel Zone, and has a chilled-out vibe that appeals predominately to couples -- children are allowed, but it's not notably family friendly, as some pools, bars and rooms are reserved for adults only. La Isla Shopping Village is only five minutes away.
There are five restaurants (including Asian, South American grill, and Mediterranean cuisine), and seven bars dotted around the resort, with regular live DJ nights at the Beach Club (Friday-Sunday) and the Rose Bar (Thursday-Saturday). For pampering, there’s 11,000-square-feet of stylish spa to explore, with a swim-out pool and treatments by the ocean. Day beds by the pool are available to hire at a cost of $40 per day, including concierge service (food, drinks and towels are delivered).
The sleek rooms have marble floors, local artwork, and face the Caribbean Sea or the lagoon. Rooms and suites on The Level are reserved for adults only and have superior views with a range of extras, including daily wine tastings, access to the Living Room private lounge and preferential restaurant reservations. Most suites have private terraces with plush Bali day beds, but the most impressive is the four-bedroom duplex, which has a pool table, massage chairs and an aquarium; the suite was recently home to the cast of MTV’s "The Real World: Cancun."
