Stay Close to New York City and Save

Can’t stand the crowds or the smaller spaces? No problem. There are plenty of alternatives to NYC hotel rooms this winter. 

Bunk up right across the river in Jersey City at a 4-star Hyatt for $99. Take in stunning skyline views without sky-high prices, which are going for as much as $300 at similar hotels. The financial district is less than 10 minutes away by taking the PATH train next to the hotel for less than the price of a subway ride. As a frame of reference, it takes about 25 minutes to get to the Financial District from the hotels in the Times Square area. The ferry, which costs $7, is four blocks from the hotel and offers service to Midtown and the Financial District. 

Looking for something trendier? A new Sheraton in fashionable Brooklyn offers rates of $109 per night into April. The area has a hip feel with trendy shops and restaurants of Brooklyn Heights without the crowds. Manahttan is just a 10-minute cab ride away from this hotel. Or take the subway; there are several stations within three blocks of the hotel offering access to NYC by the A, B, C, D, F, N, Q, R, 2 and 3 trains.
