This 4-star hotel is famous for its Round Table restaurant, where Dorothy Parker and other famous writers in the 1920s would gather to gossip and dish. The ritual led to the launch of The New Yorker magazine -- a copy of which is still provided free to each guest.
Walk a block west to reach Times Square and many Broadway theaters. Walk a block east to hit Fifth Avenue shops. Bryant Park is two blocks south, and Rockefeller Center is five blocks north.
