10 Rooftop Bars Where the Views Rival the Cocktails
“Rooftop bar: (n.) The perfect place to unwind” — well, according to our personal dictionary at least. Rooftop bars offer a chance to take it easy while taking in awesome views, and their good vibes can end any day on a positive note. Here are some of our favorites from across the nation:
1. Library Hotel, New York
Although the hotel design is inspired by the nearby New York Public Library, you can feel free to speak far above a whisper — no librarian is going to shush you here.
2. The Vendue, Charleston, S.C.
This rooftop is on another level — two levels, to be exact — and offers “some of the best views in town” (Charleston City Paper).
3. Pontchartrain Hotel, New Orleans
“One of the hottest new boozing destinations in New Orleans” (Eater), the hotel’s Hot Tin bar features 270-degree views of downtown and the Mississippi River.
Views of the Windy City from Cindy’s Rooftop are magical; pair that view with a cocktail, found on the menu under “Potions & Elixirs.”
5. Quirk Hotel, Richmond, Va.
Take in sky-high views of Richmond while indulging in a Quirk Cream Ale, brewed specifically with this venue in mind.
6. The Nines, Portland, Ore.
Gaze downtown, toward the mountains or even at your menu — from Portland’s Pioneer Square to the restaurant’s Asian cuisine, it’s all a treat.
7. 1 Hotel South Beach, Miami Beach
Watch the sunset and have a cocktail at this adults-only oceanfront venue.
The aptly named View Lounge has “one of the best barside views in the city” (Time Out).
9. The Cotton Sail Hotel, Savannah, Ga.
One Travelzoo member described it as “amazing.” Another said it was “spectacular.” “Outstanding” was someone else’s word of choice. Hmm… It seems there is a trend.
10. The Kimpton Hotel Wilshire, Los Angeles
Have a drink and go for a swim while surrounded by views of almost everything from the skyline to the Hollywood Hills. Don’t forget to text your entourage before you go.
