As much as we love home, let’s face it; hotels are a great escape.

Every property gives us the opportunity to get away and take a break, but some hotels give us the power to truly be part of a different place or time.

We’ve found these themed hotels that give the word escape a whole new meaning.

Iron Horse Hotel, Milwaukee

The Iron Horse Hotel, a 100-year-old warehouse turned modern luxury Milwaukee boutique, is located next to and inspired by the Harley-Davidson Museum. It is named for the “modern iron horse,” the motorcycle.

The Wigwam Motel, Holbrook, Ariz.

Originally constructed in 1950, the Wigwam Village is one of the most iconic Americana motels in the country, located just outside Holbrook, off Historic Route 66.  The motel is features individual sleeping units fashioned after the teepees of the Plains Native Americans.

Castle Hotel, Orlando

The newest member of the upscale Autograph Collection by Marriott, the Castle Hotel in Orlando is a fairytale castle brought to life. The hotel features ornate glass gates, stately white spires, eclectic artwork, shimmering chandeliers and opulent guest bedrooms fit for royalty.

Heceta Head Lighthouse, Yachats, Oregon

Located on a cliff overlooking the Oregon coast, the Heceta Head Lighthouse allows guests to stay in one of the last remaining early 20th century-style Lightkeeper’s cottages on the Pacific Coast. Guests can enjoy the soothing sounds of the Pacific as they live like a lighthouse keeper in their unique rooms, featuring cozy beds and antique furnishings.

Jules’ Undersea Lodge, Key Largo

Originally built as an underwater research laboratory used to explore the continental shelf off the coast of Puerto Rico, Jules’ Undersea Lodge is the world’s only underwater hotel. Located 30 ft below the surface of the ocean, the two-bedroom hotel allows guests to literally sleep with the tropical fishes.

Jazz Quarters, New Orleans

Located just steps from the French Quarter and next to Armstrong National Jazz Park, the Jazz Quarters features eight cottages, each themed in honor of different jazz legends including Louis Armstrong, Harry Connick and Trombone Shorty.

Paris Las Vegas
