This eco-friendly walking tour will explore the history and laneways of Melbourne’s historic 19th century red light district and regularly costs $58 for two people.
Starting at Melbourne’s Federation Square, the 2-hour tour winds its way through hidden laneways as your experienced local tour guide recounts the stories and events that give this trendy area its fascinating history.
Highlights include some of Melbourne’s most iconic architecture, the heartbreaking story of a man hanged for a crime we now know he did not commit and a visit to a now-trendy laneway where 19th century women of the night once fleeced unsuspecting male customers.
The tour will conclude at Pellegrini's Cafe on Bourke Street.
Departing on select dates from Tuesday to Sunday at 2pm, the tour will be lead by a Level 2 First Aid accredited tour guide and includes tram tickets if needed.
