About the offer: Southeast Asia offers a “tempting mix of volcanoes, rainforest, rice fields, beaches and coral reefs” (Rough Guides). This 14-day tour visits three of the region’s nine countries: Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.
The tour starts in Bangkok and during your time here you’ll enjoy a long-tail boat ride and a visit to Wat Po, Bangkok’s famous reclining Buddha. You’ll then travel by train to Chiang Mai, “a place to relax after the chaos of Bangkok and recharge your batteries with fabulous food and leisurely wandering” (Lonely Planet).
From here you’ll head to Chiang Khong and cross the border into Laos before setting sail on a traditional boat ride down the Mekong River to visit the Pak Ou caves. Luang Prabang -- a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 33 temples -- is your home for the next three nights. During your time here you’ll enjoy a number of guided tours and a dinner with a local family.
The next two nights will be spent in Vang Vieng, a picturesque town with “a backdrop of serene cliffs and a tapestry of vivid green paddy fields” (Lonely Planet) before visiting Vientiane, the nation’s capital. The tour concludes in Hanoi, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and the Presidential Palace. Click here to view the full itinerary.
