About the deal: French colonial elegance meets Asian spirit, inner-city lakes, pagodas and lively streets in Hanoi, where the tour starts. You'll begin with a night to explore the city at your own pace before you head to the jade waters and limestone cliffs of Halong Bay. From here, you'll board a traditional wooden junk boat for the day and night. Wake up with some Tai Chi on the sundeck of the boat or with a traditional massage. Back in Hanoi, explore the '36 streets of the old quarter', travel by cyclo and sample some of the local delicacies sold on street stalls before climbing aboard a sleeper train to Hue.
On arrival, take a tour to the city's oldest monastery, the walled fortress of the Imperial Purple Palace and Royal Tombs of the Nguyen kings, which lie in a pine forest. Next, travel through the Hai Van Pass -- dubbed the Road of the Ocean Clouds due to its scenic vistas -- to Hoi An. Once an old-world trading port, this beach-side town is the perfect place to relax for a couple of days. While here, you'll cycle through rice paddies and farmland to a local village.
