Located just an hour from Launceston, the village of Ross sits on the banks of the Macquarie River and is defined by its tree-lined streets, cobblestone paths and stone cottages.
Built by convicts in 1812, the village is home to Ross Bridge, the third oldest bridge in Australia and possibly the most beautiful of its kind left in the world. It is said the detail of its carvings, which were carved by convict stonemasons, earned the men their freedom.
Another of the historic town’s attractions is the Ross Bakery, which has been operating for more than a century and is home to a traditional semi-scotch brick ‘3-bag oven’ which has the capacity to make more than 300 loaves of bread at a time.
Ross B&B’s Gardeners Retreat is a 2-bedroom suite with its own private entrance from the garden. The Music Room features a four-poster bed and a private ensuite.
Valid for stays of two nights or more until 31 October.
