National Express has just released a new batch of UK coach seats priced from $3 (£2), each way. Taking the train on some of these routes regularly costs over $80.

The fares are valid for travel until January 6, 2013, on more than 100 routes across the UK, but availability is limited so early booking is advised.

Here's a sample of what's on offer (prices are each way):

  • Manchester to Leeds... $3 (£2)
  • London to Bath Spa... $8 (£5)
  • Cardiff to London... $8 (£5)
  • Bristol to Birmingham... $9 (£5.50)
  • Oxford to Bournemouth... $10 (£6.50)
  • Edinburgh to Newcastle... $10 (£6.50)

You may have to be flexible with your dates to find the best fares. A $2 (£1) booking fee applies for each transaction.
