American Airlines just reduced pricing on short flights between major U.S. cities for early 2010. Rates start at $58 each way, based on roundtrip travel. Regular rates are typically $20-$30 higher for each leg of these flights.

The lowest fares can be found for Monday-Thursday and Saturday travel. Friday and Sunday fares may be priced slightly higher.
