American Airlines and American Eagle have launched a new nationwide sale that cuts fares between popular destinations this spring. Flights start at $39 each way, based on roundtrip travel.

The sale includes deals to and from cities such as New York City, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago for travel April 12 - May 27. Depart any day of the week, but a Saturday night stay is required.

Travelers who book directly on AA.com will avoid booking fees and find the lowest fares. If a lower fare is found for the exact same flight and itinerary for at least $5 less on another Web site (for the same day of purchase), American Airlines will refund the difference and give a $50 promotion code for use toward a future flight.
