The Daily Beast calls "50 Shades! The Musical" "pure, unadulterated humor," and the Chicago Tribune says the fervor surrounding it is "impossible to resist." The Lakeland Center's one-night engagement of this new stage spoof is now up to 55% off for Travelzoo subscribers, including a free cocktail to kick off the adults-only evening Monday, April 22, at 8 p.m.
Tickets in Orchestra Sections 1-5 are $21, regularly $48, and include credit for a signature cocktail that audience members can drink during the show.
For $47, dine before the show on menu items such as Cajun roasted strip loin with poblano garlic jus or scallops and orzo with lemon dill cream. Wine and signature cocktails are included with the package, as well as an Orchestra seat for the show, for a value of $70.95.
Created by Chicago-based improv troupe Baby Wants Candy, "50 Shades! The Musical" follows a group of middle-aged women reading the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy for their book club. It's filled with "original slapstick show tunes" and "celebrates the book's raunchiness while lampooning the main characters" (The Daily Beast).
